1955 Spartan Imperial Mansion

Our 1955 Spartan Imperial Mansion, “Sadie”, will serve as the community shared space for guests of the park on weekends. It will also have a guest room available for rental. The Spartan is currently undergoing restoration through the summer of 2016.

The Spartan has arrived at the park and restoration is underway. “Sadie” will have her vintage birch walls and ceiling refinished. She will also get a new floor and an updated and refreshed bathroom and kitchen. Stop by and check out the weekly progress. We’ll be glad to give you a tour of this retro beauty.

Compelling fact: The Spartan Aircraft Company was founded in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1928, and in the late 30’s, the company was acquired by J. Paul Getty. Following World War II, Getty decided to build trailers in response to the great need for housing. The trailers were given a modern look by incorporating many deco design elements, and Spartan spared no expense on these beauties. They were truly the “Cadillac” of trailers.
